Lingerie Care
We know that lingerie from Ansiti.com is so good that’ll you’ll be tempted to do your dirty washing in public however we must advise that you take great care when washing your lingerie!
Here are a few lingerie laundry tips that the experts at Ansiti.com have compiled to help you avoid ending up with lacklustre lingerie.
Maintaining the life of your lingerie
To maintain and prolong the life of your delicate lingerie it is important to follow the washing care instructions.
- We highly recommend you hand wash lingerie and use gentle hand washing liquid or flakes.
- Wash in warm water then rinse in cool water.
- Place lingerie on a towel to soak up the water to avoid wringing it.
- Do not dry lingerie directly on a radiator or in a tumble dryer. The heat can damage and degrade the lycra. In a bra this will lead to the band becoming too loose which means you will get less support and uplift. This will happen gradually over time just from wear but by washing and drying it at high temperatures will accelerate the degrading of the lycra and bra.
- If you do feel like your bra has lost some of it’s elasticity then try fastening it on a tighter hook.
- Loosing the lycra and elasticity in briefs will unfortunately only lead to droopy drawers! Too much heat can also damage the delicate laces and embroidery.
- Tumble dryers can also cause colours to fade.
- Instead of drying lingerie in a tumble dryer or on a radiator we suggest you hang it in a shower or bath to drip dry.
- Always wash darks, lights and colours separately.
- If a label does not recommend hand washing it is possible to machine wash it however care must still be taken. Wash at a low temperature on a short cycle using a special powder for delicate fabrics.
- Always put lingerie in a special lingerie net wash bag or a pillow case. This not only protects your lingerie but also your washing machine from being damaged by the bra hooks!
- Wash hosiery separately from lingerie as bra hooks can snag and pull hosiery.
